Venetia is a marine biologist who spent many years doing research on the bio-optical characteristics of phytoplankton, as well as food resource partitioning by kelp bed filter feeders. She joined the IOCCG in 1996 as the IOCCG Executive Scientist/Coordinator, and is also the series editor of the IOCCG Scientific Reports.
