Venetia is a marine biologist from Cape Town, South Africa, who spent many years doing research on food resource partitioning by kelp bed filter feeders as well as studying the bio-optical characteristics of phytoplankton. She joined the IOCCG in 1996 as the IOCCG Executive Scientist/Coordinator, and is also the series editor of the IOCCG Scientific Report series.
